Welcome to the Groton Grange.
We are located at 80 Champney Street in beautiful downtown Groton, Ma. The Groton Grange meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7.00pm. at the historic Grange hall. Meetings are open to the public. Please join us, all are welcome.
The Groton Grange #7 was founded in October 18th, 1873 as the seventh Grange in the state. It was the first major social intuition to admit women.
The Grange was founded in response to the industrialization of the region of Groton and Ayer. Meetings took up the issues of agricultural business, entertainment lectures and the award of scholarships to local students.
The Grange acquired the building it is currently in at 80 Champney Street in 1916. It was a former carriage and paint shop. The building was renovated and updated again in 2008 to meet the needs of the growing chapter and to further provide programing for the interest of the community. These updates included the upstairs stage with screening room for films, meeting area for functions, handicap accessibility and to provide an affordable venue for the public to rent the hall for events.
